Reserve a Space at La Casa Cultural Latina

Thank you for your interest in reserving a space at La Casa. To reserve a space at La Casa, please click here and read below for all general policies. 

Students, faculty, staff, and community groups may reserve rooms for events during the week or on the weekend. La Casa opens at 9:00 am and closes at 8:30 pm Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday during the academic year. 

Use of the facility must be consistent with the mission of the La Casa Cultural Latina and Student Success, Inclusion, and Belonging. Events must abide by all University of Illinois rules and regulations & the Student Code of Conduct. Use of our space for events requires taking good care of La Casa, including any additional cleaning or COVID-19 prevention requirements & protocols that help support our space. Please connect with our Student Coordinators at the Front Desk for any cleaning materials you may need. 

Recurring space requests are not permitted effective August 1, 2025,  you must submit a space request for each individual request and receive a confirmation for each request 

Requesting space at La Casa Cultural Latina is available at no charge; all users are responsible for their own set-up and clean-up. All scheduling changes must be approved in writing & through a Calendar Invite from La Casa. Users/signers accept full responsibility for use, and agree to the following policies:

General Space Policies 

  • You are responsible for providing your own disposable materials including but not limited to plates, cups, silverware, and napkins.
  • Before leaving, all reserved rooms must be cleaned, reset to their original location, and equipment put away
  •  Dishes must be washed, dried, and put away
  •  All furniture must be returned to original locations
  •  All trash must be taken out to the dumpster (outside, in La Casa's driveway)
  • Artwork will not be moved or tampered with in any way. 
  • Do not tamper with the thermostat, should there be any heating or cooling issues please connect with La Casa Staff 
  • The use of tape, push pins, nails to hang any materials on the walls is strictly prohibited 
  •  Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited 

When reserving the space for after hour events, The last individual/group in the house must:

  • Lock & ensure front and back doors (3 Total)
  • Turn off all lights.

Make sure all items and supplies that is being used be returned to the proper locations. This is student space and we must be respectful and courtesy of the next indulivals using the space.

Your event MUST be APPROVED by La Casa Cultural Latina (via La Casa email) before you are able to advertise location on your event. 

If minors will be at your event you must fill out the Protection of Minors form through UIPD. If you do not comply with the guidelines you may loose your privilege in using the space remember this is our casita. Reservation priority will go to LCASO organizations and RSO's versus Departments or outside organizations.  

NOTE: You must make your request at least 4 business days in advance to ensure review! Weekends do not count as business days.

La Casa is not ADA compliant; there is an access ramp at the end of the driveway, but we do not have an elevator or stair lift. Due to the narrow hallways there may be access issues for wheelchair users turning into room 107.
